First Day of Summer at the Barn!

Thursday, May 26th                                                  9 am to 3 pm*                                   $60

All experience levels and all ages are welcome at our one-day camp celebrating summer! We’ll ride, maybe play a game or two, swim if the weather is right, and generally have a great time. Also a great time to bring a friend to introduce to LionHeart!

Kickstart Summer Camp

Monday, June 6th to Friday, June 10th                     9 am to 3 pm*                                   $400

An intermediate level camp—riders need to have been riding regularly at LionHeart to be ready for this camp. Riders will spend most of the day in the barn, have two lessons per day, and learn about all aspects of horse care, anatomy, first aid, feeding, etc. Lessons will be tailored to each individual student’s needs, though we will probably work on a specific theme for everyone. This camp is probably best for kids ages 8 and up, though I can think of a couple of tough 7 year olds that could make it!

June Mini-Camp

Monday, June 20th to Wednesday, June 22nd         9 am to 3 pm*                                   $200

A beginner to intermediate level camp—excellent for those who have been taking lessons regularly but also a good option for those just starting. A total of five lessons over three days, with plenty of education but also some games, possible swimming, etc. A little less intense than the Kickstart Camp, this camp will be good for ages 5 and up.

The Cub Camp

Monday, July 11th to Friday, July 15th                    9 am to 3 pm*                                  $300

A beginner level camp designed for our younger students and those who haven’t ridden before! Campers will do one lesson per day, get some education in the barn, and also do plenty of games, crafts, and hopefully swimming. A field trip is always a possibility, too! We’ll send ‘em home tired, but alive!

Central States Horse Show Camp

Monday, July 18th and Tuesday, July 19th              9 am to 3 pm at LionHeart*

Wednesday, July 20th to Saturday, July 23rd          With Kate in Kansas City!

Full Camp and show at Central States $1,000

Full Camp and attend show but not participate $500

An advanced level camp, not for the faint of heart!!! This camp is designed for our riders who have been around a while and are showing or will be showing soon. Campers will spend Monday and Tuesday learning about home preparations for the show- packing, clipping, washing, etc., and of course doing some final lessons. Wednesday morning, campers will ship out with Kate to go to the show, help set up and work horses. The show starts Thursday, and campers will learn about all the backstage work that goes on at a horse show- actual showing optional but encouraged! Riders will stay with Kate in Kansas City at an awesome little house; food and lodging are included in the price of the camp. Campers should understand that horse shows are a lot of work, long hours, and not a lot of sleep- no whining! When we aren’t working or showing, we’ll sit in the stands and watch and LEARN!!! Space will be limited to four campers, so reserve your spot early!

Last Week of Summer at the Barn (includes Field and Fun Day!)

Monday, August 8th to Friday, August 12th             9 am to 3 pm*                                   $400

An intermediate level camp for our true barn rats who can think of no place they would rather spend the last week of summer vacation! Monday through Thursday will be lessons and barn time as usual, then Friday is Field and Fun Day- the most fun day of the year at LHRA!

Field and Fun Day

Friday, August 12th                                                   9 am to 3 pm*                                  $30

Don’t miss the most fun day of the year at LHRA! Games, tournaments, both on and off the horses- lots of laughs and lots of fun- followed by a provided lunch and swimming.

*All camp activities will begin promptly at 9.  Please drop your child off between 8:30 and 9.  Camp will end at 3; you may pick your child up between 3 and 3:30.
