Spring Break Camp 2016

We are so excited to announce our awesome week of fun over Spring Break 2016!  Spring Break this year is Monday, March 28 to Friday, April 1, and we have great activities planned every day.

Individual days are $70 and include 2 lessons and many activities, or the whole week is $300, a savings of $50.  Monday and Tuesday are specifically structured to be inclusive of new students, so if your kiddo hasn’t been riding long, s/he should be ready to move into the rest of the week!
To sign up, you can email us at LionHeartRidingAcademy@gmail.com or call/text 573-823-2173.  Spots will be limited so sign up soon!
Monday- Barn Management Day- An important all-around education day, especially for those who haven’t been at the barn much!  Students will learn continued techniques for basic safety while grooming, cleaning stalls, feeding, and of course, riding.  If we have some more advanced kids, too, we might divide into groups so everyone gets new information.
Tuesday- Buddy Day- Revival of an old favorite program at LionHeart!  Students will be assigned a “buddy” for the day, and hopefully continue that relationship through the rest of the year.  “Big buddies” will help teach their “little buddies” both in the saddle and in the barn.  Newer riders get a new perspective (always supervised by an instructor, of course), and older riders learn about mentoring and teaching.
Wednesday- Veterinary Medicine Day- We’re going to structure this day a little differently this year!  Each student signed up will be assigned a small “homework” assignment to learn about a different common veterinary issue for our horses (students can choose, if there’s something they are particularly interested in!), and with the assistance of an instructor, they will present what they’ve learned to the group.  We will hopefully also go on a field trip to either Equine Medical Associates or the Mizzou Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
Thursday- Celebrate the American Saddlebred! Day- We’ll learn more about the horses and people who have made our breed what it is today.  A little “who’s who” as well as possibly some conversation about how we can get the word out more about how terrific and fun riding can be!
Friday- Pattern Day!- A Spring Break tradition forever and ever and ever.  We start at the very beginning- even those who have only been riding for the week realize that they know more about patterns than they thought!  We’ll hopefully have lots of levels of riders so everyone can see all that goes into pattern work.
